Da Hong Pao (大红袍) — also known as Big Red Robe — is one of China’s most celebrated and revered oolong teas, originating from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian Province. Grown on rocky cliffs nourished by mineral-rich soil, this tea represents the pinnacle of the Yancha (rock tea) tradition.
For centuries, Da Hong Pao has been treasured by scholars, emperors, and tea masters for its complex flavor, rich energy (cha qi), and symbolic heritage. Crafted by skilled artisans through a meticulous process of withering, oxidation, rolling, and charcoal roasting, it embodies the perfect balance between strength and elegance.
