The dry leaf has a woody aroma, but it already shows berry sourness. In warmed dishes, the aroma changes towards dried fruits (prunes and dates), it becomes thick, reminiscent of chocolate candy. Some sweet spice (anise, fennel) is noticeable.
The infusion is rather brown-red in color, but thick and dense. It is good because it can be brewed both softly and stronger. Drinks easy, smooth and warm. You can find iodic notes that add a noble spiciness. Chocolate and creamy tones of flavor are intertwined in a long aftertaste, in which in addition to everything quite pronounced sourness. It has a clear invigorating effect, but without hand tremors or anxiety.
Brew in a thick-walled pot, the water temperature should be close to 96 degrees.
