Used in Chinese gongfu tea ceremony (功夫茶), a chaban serves as the central workspace for the tea master. Water and tea overflow drain through a built-in system, keeping the table dry and the ceremony focused. The material, shape, and size of a chaban all influence the energy and flow of the session.
