Cha Gao (茶膏) — puer tea paste — is one of the most extraordinary products in Chinese tea culture. A concentrated essence of aged dark puer, brewed and reduced until only the pure soul of the tea remains, then cooled into solid drops. Originating in ancient Yunnan and valued historically in Tibetan and imperial Chinese courts for its medicinal properties, Cha Gao is instant, powerful, and unlike any tea you've tasted.
History
Cha Gao has been produced for over a thousand years — first recorded during the Tang Dynasty as a tribute tea to the imperial court. Its concentrated nature made it ideal for long-distance trade and preservation. Today, modern cold-extraction technology allows the process to be refined while preserving all natural qualities: taste, aroma, and health properties.
How to Use Cha Gao
- Simply dissolve 1 drop in 500–700ml of hot water
- Adjust quantity to taste — 1 drop is a standard serving
- No leaves, no strainer, no steep time — instant, pure puer
