History and Origin
Lao Ban Zhang is located in Menghai County, Yunnan Province, on the slopes of Bulangshan Mountain at approximately 1,600 metres altitude. The region is known for its warm climate, frequent mists, and rich soils — ideal conditions for ancient tea trees. Leaves from this village have historically been considered elite: limited, prized, and rarely reaching the mass market.
Leaves and Character
This Sheng Pu-erh is made from ancient Gushu tea trees, several hundred years old, featuring large dense leaves with silvery buds and an exceptionally high concentration of flavour and cha qi energy.
