Celestial Buds Ya Bao (芽苞) is a rare early spring wild bud tea from Yunnan Province — collected, gently rolled, and carefully sun-dried to preserve the natural sweetness and delicate fragrance of the young shoots. Neither fully white tea nor oolong, Ya Bao occupies a unique position: wild, earthy, and ephemeral — a seasonal treasure with a short window of peak freshness.
Origin & Character
Origin: Yunnan Province, China | Type: Wild bud tea (Ya Bao 芽苞)
Harvest: Early spring — dormant buds before they unfurl
Processing: Minimal — collected, rolled and sun-dried without crushing
Ya Bao comes from the same wild Yunnan tea trees as puer, but these are the dormant winter buds collected in early spring — just before they begin to develop into leaves. The key is precision: once the bud starts to open, it is too late. The buds must be dried with great care so the inner core does not remain wet. Best enjoyed fresh — most fragrant and delicate in the first 6–12 months.
