Dian Hong (滇红茶), also known as Yunnan Red Tea, originates from the misty highlands of Yunnan Province, the birthplace of some of China’s oldest tea trees. This distinguished red (black) tea is crafted from the large-leaf Camellia sinensis var. assamica, known for its depth of flavor and natural sweetness.
Produced through a careful process of oxidation, fermentation, and light roasting, Dian Hong is celebrated for its golden buds, silky texture, and honey-like aroma. It embodies the warmth and richness of Yunnan’s terroir — smooth, layered, and full of vitality.

Brewing
- 5 g per 150 ml
- Temperature: 90–95 °C
- Steep for 20–30 seconds
- Can be re-infused up to 5–6 times — flavor deepens with each steep
For best results, brew in a porcelain gaiwan or glass teapot to appreciate its glowing color and floral-honey aroma.
