Gaba Jiai "Ruby" is one of our most sought-after teas — bold yet smooth, with a ruby-red spirit that blends fruit, honey, and floral depth. Crafted from the rare Hong Yu cultivar in the Alishan foothills.

Origin & Character

From Jia Yi County in the Alishan foothills of Taiwan (≈1000 m altitude), this GABA tea is crafted from the Hong Yu tea bush variety. Through a special assimilation process, it develops a distinctive "ruby" character with bold flavour and refined sharpness.

Tasting Notes

• Aroma: Rich, with forest berries, dried fruits, and floral honey.
• Flavour: Velvety and slightly tart, with ripe cherries, notes of black tea, and a lingering honeyed sweetness.
• Aftertaste: Long-lasting, smooth, and bright, like a ruby glow.

Brewing Guide

• Amount: 5 g per 150 ml
• Water temperature: 90–95 °C
• Steeping time: 30–40 seconds first infusion, +10–15 s per subsequent
• Infusions: Up to 10 times
